A broadcast took place in France from the restored Notre-Dame de Paris, coinciding with President Emmanuel Macron's visit one week before its reopening. Footage captured from inside the cathedral and from a bird's-eye view has been published by Reuters.
It is reported that the restoration work is not yet complete on the outside, and scaffolding remains on the roof of the building, which was nearly destroyed by the fire. However, inside Notre-Dame is already ready to welcome visitors.
The Cathedral of Notre-Dame is listed as a World Heritage Site and is one of the symbols of Paris. The tragedy occurred on April 15, 2019: a severe fire broke out at Notre-Dame, the causes of which remain unclear. The fire was finally extinguished only the following morning.
It was previously announced that the cathedral will reopen after restoration and repairs by the end of 2024. December 8 has been mentioned as the date for the resumption of Notre-Dame's operations.
