The representative of Lokomotiv midfielder Alexey Batrakov, Vladimir Kuzmichev, stated that the player's salary is significantly below the "ceiling" set by the club.
It was previously reported that the railway management established a maximum allowable salary threshold for players ahead of the current season.
“We will keep the figures to ourselves, as it is not entirely appropriate to disclose them in relation to the player and the club. I will say this: he is still far from the ceiling. Alexey is a key player. We see this not only in his absence on the field but also when he is dropped from the 'ten' position into the defensive zone. The team's attacking play immediately diminishes. And when he missed a game due to a card accumulation, it was a completely different team,” Kuzmichev was quoted by “RIA Novosti”.
It was previously reported that the club and Batrakov reached an agreement to extend the contract under improved conditions.
The 19-year-old Russian is a product of Lokomotiv's youth system. This season, Batrakov has played 19 matches across all competitions, scoring 11 goals and providing 8 assists.
His current contract runs until the summer of 2027. The Transfermarkt portal estimates the player's market value at 5 million euros.
