Russian beach volleyball champion Ganenko has announced her retirement from the sport.

Russian volleyball player Alexandra Ganenko, who played for Moscow's Dynamo, has decided to retire from professional sports at the age of 25.

Russian volleyball player Alexandra Ganenko from Moscow's Dynamo has decided to retire from her professional career at the age of 25.

“I am ending my career as a professional athlete. To be honest, this decision was not easy for me at all. Nevertheless, I made this decision during the competitive period of this season,” Ganenko wrote on her social media.

The athlete expressed her gratitude to the coaching staff of the volleyball team Dynamo, for which she has played since 2015.

“A new and equally interesting path is opening up for me, where I will strive, just as in beach volleyball, to achieve certain heights. Thank you all so much! And this is not a goodbye!”

Ganenko played as a defender. She is a winner of the U-22 European Beach Volleyball Championship (2020), a champion of Russia (2020), and also a winner of the youth national cup (2019).
