Midfielder of FC Krasnodar and the Russian national team, Alexander Chernikov, shared his thoughts on the match against Brunei.
“With all due respect to the opponent, this is not the team that the Russian national team has faced before — Cameroon, Serbia, Paraguay, with whom the match ultimately did not take place. But it is the job of the players to play football, not to comment on the strength of the opponents. That is pointless. This is international experience, and I don’t have many matches behind me to speak in that context,” Chernikov told RB Sport.
On November 15, the Russian national team achieved a victory over Brunei with a score of 11:0. Chernikov took to the field wearing the captain's armband — this was his second match for the national team.
