The President of the Russian Football Union (RFU), Alexander Dyukov, shared his thoughts on the suspension of referee Vladislav Bezborodov from officiating in RPL matches and other competitions until the end of the 2024/25 season.
On November 8, the disciplinary committee of the RFU's referee committee decided to suspend the 51-year-old referee due to comments made by the Petersburg native regarding his work on the Telegram channel "Aле, рэф!". He was found guilty under articles 12.6 (violation of moral and ethical standards or rules of business conduct) and 12.17 (providing knowingly false information or concealing it) of the disciplinary code for referees and inspectors of the RFU.
"I did not make the decision regarding Vladislav Bezborodov. There is a disciplinary code for referees, he violated it, which is why this decision was made. What he allowed himself is undoubtedly unacceptable," Dyukov was quoted by TASS.
Bezborodov has been officiating matches in the Russian Championship since 2007, and his last match was on October 18 during the 12th round of the RPL between "Akhat" and "Fakel" (2:3).
