Irina Rukavishnikova was granted the authority of a senator from the legislative body of the Rostov region on September 15, 2018, and was subsequently reappointed to the position on September 19, 2023. Since February 2020, she has served as the First Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Building.
During her tenure as a senator, Irina Rukavishnikova participated in the preparation of approximately 200 federal laws. “Among the achievements, I would especially highlight: support for participants and their families, social protection for citizens, legal regulation of digital relationships, and legal assistance for citizens,” wrote Irina Rukavishnikova.
At the beginning of November, Vasily Golubev resigned early from his position as governor of the Rostov region. On November 12, he received a vacant mandate for a deputy in the Rostov regional assembly, which was previously declined by deputy Nikolai Belyaev. This allows the former governor to become a senator from the region.
