The Governor of Kamchatka, Vladimir Sokolov, has joined the United Russia party.

Mr. Solodov has held the position of Governor of Kamchatka Krai since September 21, 2020. He ran for election as an independent candidate. In 2021, it was mentioned on the website of the United Russia party that Vladimir Solodov is the leader of the party's list for Kamchatka Krai.

Prior to his appointment as governor, Mr. Solodov served as the Chairman of the Government of Yakutia from 2018 to 2020. He also worked as the Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Far Eastern Federal District, Yuri Trutnev, and chaired the Board of Directors of the Far East Development Fund.
