Philadelphia forward Matvei Michkov has made it into the top three candidates for the NHL's Rookie of the Year award, according to the league's official website.
Alongside the 19-year-old Russian, the list of candidates for the Calder Trophy includes Dallas forward Logan Stankoven and San Jose forward Macklin Celebrini.
The last Russian to be named the NHL's best rookie was Minnesota forward Kirill Kaprizov in 2021.
This season, Michkov has played 18 games in the NHL and has accumulated 15 points (6+9).
