Actor and singer Dmitry Pevtsov has voiced his opposition to director Konstantin Bogomolov. He is quoted by StarHit.
The artist expressed his disagreement with the personnel decisions in the theater industry. “If we recall this person with the inappropriate last name… He has three creative principles — blasphemy, obscenity, and provocation. Essentially, it is because of these that he emerged and began to be talked about. Culture writes about him only because everything is bought and sold. It’s a time when one person, who has no relation to theater at all, can be given three theaters,” Pevtsov stated.
He also emphasized that he is not willing to work with Bogomolov even for “huge money.” “When I saw that Konstantin Bogomolov was at the helm of the project, I said: 'No, guys… I’m sorry, but I can’t even stand next to this person in the credits,'” the actor added.
Previously, actress Natalia Bondarchuk criticized Konstantin Bogomolov for renaming the Roman Viktyuk Theater.
Upon becoming the new head of the institution, Bogomolov renamed it to the Theater — Stage “Melnikov.” The director explained that this innovation is part of a PR campaign. He also removed well-known productions from the repertoire — “The Maids,” “Phaedra,” and “Illusions of Love.”
