The General Director of Dynamo, Pavel Pivovarov, shared his thoughts on the level of refereeing in the RPL in a comment to "SE."
“I have given interviews many times, especially last year, and mentioned that we see an improvement in the quality of refereeing. My opinion regarding refereeing has changed over time, including towards greater satisfaction. The issues raised now relate specifically to the refereeing system, not the quality.”
What was promised five years ago was discussed at a meeting with the clubs... There was a concept within which we are moving forward. We asked what has been done and what has not. We did not receive an answer. The League conducted its own analysis of this status. Documents were reviewed. The target values for the indicators that were declared were examined. The actual indicators for this period and the resources that were spent were studied. This was analyzed: what was promised and what was done,” said Pivovarov to “SE.”
Additionally, the General Director of Dynamo reacted to the words of the chairman of the RFU Refereeing Committee, Pavel Kamantsev, who stated that when all clubs are satisfied with refereeing, it would be “akin to the landing of aliens.”
“I have nothing to compare the landing of aliens to, because I have never witnessed it. Can clubs ever be satisfied with refereeing? They can be satisfied with the dynamics,” Pivovarov added.
It was previously reported that the RPL Board sent proposals to improve the quality of refereeing to the RFU Executive Committee.
