American singer of Armenian descent, Sherilyn Sarkisian, better known as Cher, revealed that she lost her virginity at the age of 14 as an act of revenge. An excerpt from her memoirs "Cher: The Memoirs, Part One" was featured in The Independent.
The artist shared that at that time she was involved with a high school boy from an Italian family. According to her, the young man was "quite nice" when they were alone, but when his friends arrived, he treated her "like an awkward child."
One day, the singer recounted, the young man's friends suggested they go to a café, and he invited Cher along. "They laughed and said, 'Are you going to take this kid?' and he dumped me. I was so hurt when he did that, I had sex with him as revenge," the artist wrote.
She emphasized that she "never wanted that." "Otherwise, I would have done it during one of the five hundred other times he asked. But I was so angry at being rejected that I decided, if I couldn't win, I would lend him my virginity," Cher added.
Previously, musician Ed Sheeran stated that if it weren't for his successful music career, he would have remained a virgin.
