Zenit forward Alexander Sobolev explained how he decided to assist the victims and the families of those deceased in the terrorist attack in the Moscow region.
“It just happened that when the fundraising was announced, I was sitting on social media and saw a post from some blogger—I can't remember who—about the collection. He transferred some money there. I just saw that and thought, I’ll transfer some too. And I shared it as well. Why did I share it? I stumbled upon it by chance. I thought, maybe if I saw it from him, if I post it, others might see it too. So I posted it, and of course, that’s when it all started…” Sobolev shared in a video on YouTube channel of Zenit.
In March, the 27-year-old footballer donated 500,000 rubles to the charitable account opened by Sberbank and the Russian Red Cross to raise funds for the victims and families of those who lost their lives during the tragedy at the Crocus City Hall concert venue.
