Former Avangard forward Alexey Tereshchenko shared his thoughts on the candidacy of American Todd Reirden for the head coach position of the Omsk team.
“I think it’s not a good idea to hire a North American as the head coach. He didn’t assemble this team. Right now, we need to allow Sergey Zvyagin to work calmly and have faith in him, support him, and help him lead the team. The coach should be kept until the end of the season,” Tereshchenko is quoted by Legalbet.
On November 14, “SE” learned that the appointment of the 53-year-old Reirden to Avangard is in question due to the coach's family circumstances.
After 25 matches in the current Fonbet KHL season, Avangard is in 10th place in the Eastern Conference.
