The President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR), Elena Vyalbe, responded to a question regarding Yulia Stupak's participation in competitions.
“Yulia has left the sport. She is not training at all this season; I don't know. She says she might come back, but I seriously doubt that,” Vyalbe stated in an interview with the project “On Skis.”
In February 2024, during the "Spartakiad of the Strongest," Vyalbe noted that Stupak has "some minor issues" that hinder her from achieving victories. Stupak claimed that she is not offended by such a statement and denied rumors of a conflict with the head of FLGR.
The 29-year-old skier is the Olympic champion of 2022 in the relay, a two-time bronze medalist from the Olympics in Korea in the sprint and relay, as well as a three-time medalist at the World Championships.
