“The gross grain harvest is expected to reach 130 million tons, including 83 million tons of wheat, which will allow for approximately 55–60 million tons of grain to be exported to foreign markets in the current agricultural season,” said Mr. Patrushev in an interview with the publication “Expert”.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that this year, farmers have faced exceptionally challenging weather conditions. In the spring, several regions experienced frost, while summer saw drought, and heavy rainfall occurred during the harvest period.
In October, Dmitry Patrushev reported that in 2024, Russia plans to export over 108 million tons of agricultural products abroad. In 2023, the total value of these exports to foreign markets amounted to $43.5 billion. Overall, more than 100 million tons of food were sent for export.
