British heavyweight Tyson Fury has identified two key changes he can make to secure victory in the rematch against Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.
“I don’t think I can be stronger than I was in the first fight,” Fury said in an interview with Sky Sports. “Because that was probably one of the best performances of my life. Although I didn’t get the desired result, it was still a fantastic display against a top opponent.”
“Can I get even better? — he added. — I can be more focused and fool around less, and I think that will be enough.”
The 36-year-old Fury and 37-year-old Usyk will face off in a rematch on the night of December 21-22 in Saudi Arabia (1:30 AM MSK). In their first encounter, which took place on May 18, Usyk defeated Fury by split decision and became the undisputed world champion in the heavyweight division.
