The goalkeeper coach of the Russian national team, Vitaly Kafanov, spoke with "SE" about which Russian goalkeepers are ready to move to Europe.
"Another Russian goalkeeper has played in the Champions League (goalkeeper Daniil Khudyakov from Sturm. — Note from "SE"), representing a foreign club. This is very encouraging. It only confirms that our goalkeeping school is developing. Who could be the next representative in Europe? Sasha Maximenkо. He is a ready goalkeeper for any club competing in the Champions League. He possesses all the qualities. He is prepared to play in European competitions as early as tomorrow. If European scouts are currently looking for a goalkeeper, they should pay attention to Sasha," Kafanov told "SE".
This season, the 26-year-old Maximenkо has played 16 matches for Spartak, 9 of which he finished with a clean sheet.
